Junior School House Meetings
On 7 February we had our very first Junior School House meeting for the Years 3–6 cohort. The Year 3 students were very excited to come and join in the fun and meet their new House Captains. Please read some reports below.
It is a privilege to be one of the Booth House Captains this year and our first meeting was awesome. Standing in front of a crowd of our wonderful Booth students I felt the excitement of the year ahead. We welcomed the Year 3 students, who were all feeling nervous but the Year 6 students greeted them with love and house spirit.
We enjoyed mingling with one another and introducing ourselves. We look forward to updating the Booth noticeboard to share regular news. I’m proud to hold up the Booth House flag with respect and treating others nicely. Let’s make this year the best one yet.

Big thank you to all our Leaver Legends and staff for your enthusiasm during our first Leaver House Meeting for 2025. I can’t wait to show our House Spirit by wearing something RED at the Athletics Day on 21 February. GO LEAVER!
I thought our Leaver House meeting went great. Everyone was enjoying the games (including me) and Aiden and I had a lot of fun taking some photos of everyone. Aidan and I did our presentations to all the students, and I thought we did an amazing job for our first House meeting of 2025.

Trist House enjoyed coming together for an exciting and engaging House meeting in the PAC. We’re proud of the positive energy and enthusiasm that our Trist students bring along. The Years 3–6 Trist students had a fantastic time connecting with one another, with a focus on introducing the Year 6 leaders and upcoming events this year.
If Trist students have anything for the noticeboard, questions or suggestions for 2025, we have put a ‘suggestion box’ under our noticeboard. We look forward to hearing your ideas. Trist, let’s thrive in 2025!

Izzy 6K, Wilson 6K and Miss Reale
Our first Years 3–6 House Meeting was a success. We were proud of Reid’s Team Spirit in preparation for Athletics Day. We loved how respectful the Year 3 students were as we introduced them to our team and our chants. We enjoyed playing Card Corners, being together and leading our House for the first time.
We really look forward to seeing how great Reid House will be at House Athletics, future events and meetings. The Year 2 House Meetings were also a privilege to be a part of, with so much energy and enthusiasm. We can’t wait to see the entries from Reid for the ‘CaseyMon’ Competition and we couldn’t be more excited to be the Captains for 2025. GO Reid!

Exploring Personal Identity: A Year 4 Inquiry with Miss Reale
I have really enjoyed starting the year off with Inquiry in 4B. Students have been delving deeply into the exploration of their personal identities. This exciting journey has led them to reflect on the significance of their names — how they shape who they are, where they come from, and the connections they have with their families, cultures and histories.
By engaging in this Inquiry, students have expressed their understanding of their names and their broader sense of self, what they value and what makes them unique. They were tasked with creating an ‘Identity Bag,’ filling it with symbols and items that represent who they are.

Here are some of the poems written by the students, which provide a glimpse into their personal reflections on the significance of their names:

Foundation News
We have had a wonderful week in Foundation, with students engaging in a range of hands on, exciting learning experiences and continuing to connect well with one another and their learning environment. It has been an absolute delight to watch students engaging in play in our outdoor spaces, including water play, the cubbies and the garden.

Last week, students enjoyed clearing the garden beds and planting new seedlings, including a range of herbs, flowers and vegetables. In the classroom, students have been making, modelling and recording numbers, as well as engaging in spelling sessions and making their names using different materials.
Our unit of inquiry has been focused on getting to know each other, as well as exploring our similarities and differences, our strengths and our families. It was wonderful to see our Foundation students and their families connect at our Foundation Welcome BBQ.
A big thank you to the PFC for organising and running such a wonderful and worthwhile event. We are looking forward to more exciting learning and special moments over the coming weeks.
