Goal Setting and Habits Workshop – VCE meeting
On Monday 10 February, Tyson Day (Arrive and Thrive) facilitated a Goal Setting and Habits workshop for our Year 12 students. More specifically, this session focused on personal device use (mobiles).
Year 12 students were tasked with reviewing their daily screen time and reflecting on how this may be affecting their ability to achieve their academic best. Often used as a procrastination ‘tool,’ Tyson provided some excellent tips for improving their mobile use habits, to help move past these distractions and thrive.
At the conclusion of this session, each Year 12 was tasked with setting two specific ‘intentions’ for 2025: a personal one and an academic one. To hold them accountable, they had to write these on a post it and take a selfie.
I would encourage parents/guardians of Year 12 students to discuss these intentions with their children. It will help to make them accountable.

STEM Futures: Celebrating Women and Diversity Conference (Expressions of Interest)
We are seeking expressions of interest from students (Years 9–12) to attend a fantastic conference: STEM Futures: Celebrating Women and Diversity. In celebration of International Women’s Day, this event celebrates women and diversity in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). It will be held on Friday 7 March 2025 (9:30am–12:30pm).
The STEM Futures conference is designed to be an interactive and informative event that brings together students, educators and professionals from various STEM disciplines. It will include keynote speakers (leaders in STEM) who will share their journeys and insights. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in engaging workshops that provide practical experience and knowledge in different STEM areas.
Places are limited to 14. Therefore, we are seeking written expressions of interest (EOI) from interested students. Your EOI should be around 100 words, outlining the reasons why you would like to attend and what you think you may gain from the experience.
EOI submissions are due by Wednesday, 26 February, and should be sent to Mr Vandenberg and Ms Blythman. This event is open to all students.
