Farewell Class of 2024

As we bid farewell to our remarkable Year 12 students recently, we had much to celebrate. The Valedictory assembly and dinner were special moments for students, families and teachers to honour the achievements and friendships these students have built throughout their school journey. Special mention to our 22 students who completed their entire schooling from Foundation – Year 12 at CGS.

Congratulations to Madame Morgan and her team for the huge effort that went into ensuring our Class of 2024 valedictory celebrations were such a huge success. We extend our heartfelt congratulations and wish our Year 12 students the best of luck as they sit for their exams. May these next few weeks lead to the success they so richly deserve.

Hullabaloo in the Zoo

Foundation S hosted their first ever presentation assembly recently and what a sensational performance it was. Each student was dressed as a zoo animal as they acted out the story from the book, Hullabaloo in the Zoo

Seeing our Foundation students embracing their characters with such enthusiastic and obvious joy was heartwarming for every audience member. Bravo to Miss Stephenson and FS.

4H Assembly

Mrs Harvie and her talented class hosted our Presentation Assembly last week and they showcased their individual and class character strengths. Their play was enjoyed by all as they journeyed through a portal to other lands where their values were put to the test. Each child also showed appreciation to their parents by presenting them with a special card.

It was so genuinely moving that it brought a tear to my eye. I can only imagine how much it meant to the parents. Congratulations to Mrs Harvie and her wonderful students.

Foundation to Year 2 Athletics Carnival

Our youngest athletes from Foundation to Year 2 showcased their energy and enthusiasm at their Athletics Carnival last Thursday. It was a day filled with bright smiles, spirited races and excellent displays of teamwork.

It was heartwarming to see our Foundation –Year 2 students giving their all on the field, celebrating personal bests and learning the joy of friendly competition. Thanks to Mr Batey, our Foundation –Year 2 staff and our Year 6 helpers.

Year 3 Camp

Meanwhile, our Year 3 students embarked on an exciting overnight camp to Forest Edge, where they experienced outdoor adventures, learned teamwork and created lasting memories.

The camp provided them with a chance to connect with nature, develop independence and deepen bonds with classmates — a true highlight of their year.

Sincere thanks to our wonderful staff members who attended this camp: Miss Nolan, Mrs Brown, Miss Sutherland, Mrs Torcasio, Mrs Saleeba, Mrs Barnes, Mrs Willett and Mr Benham. It was a great joy for me and Mr Bell to visit our students at camp.

Victorian Gymnastics Championships

On Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 October, Emily P (2D), Ruby L (1G) and Charli L (3H) competed at the Victorian Championships for gymnastics held in Geelong. Emily and Ruby’s team performed their best on beam, bars, floor and vault coming 5th and 6th overall in the state.

Charli L and her team had an incredible competition becoming Victorian Champions on the beam. The girls are all thrilled with their achievements after a big year of training many hours and days a week at Casey Gymnastics.

Congratulations girls on your success and amazing achievements.

Hoping all our students, families and staff have enjoyed a well-deserved break over the Melbourne Cup weekend. It was a perfect time to recharge, spend quality time together and prepare for our busy last month of the 2024 school year.
