VTAC

Term 3 and early Term 4 have been incredibly busy for our Year 12 students. In addition to their academic pursuits, most of our Year 12 students have been preparing applications for their 2025 endeavours. Most of our Year 12s have submitted applications via Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) and will now wait anxiously until first round offers are made on 23 December 2024 (results released: 12 December 2024).

I wanted to congratulate our Year 12 cohort for successfully submitting timely VTAC applications. There is a huge amount of work that goes into preparing the required evidence and statements to support their applications and our Year 12s should be commended for navigating this complex process whilst juggling their Unit 4 studies.

Casey Challenge Program – Term 4 (Careers)

In Term 4, the focus of the Casey Challenge program has shifted. More specifically, our Year 9 students have had the opportunity to reflect on the amazing experiences they have shared in 2024: but through a career education lens.

In Weeks 1 and 2, we have focused on identifying the employability skills that employers are seeking, with students identifying their own ‘evidence’ to showcase their skills to prospective employers. They have had the opportunity to develop their resumes and consider their individual strengths and interests.

Over the next few weeks, we have engaged Talk Money to deliver two sessions which focus on developing the financial literacy of our students. These Talk Money sessions are designed to support students to successfully navigate the workplace (i.e., understanding their rights at work, managing superannuation and tax, rates of pay, workplace health and safety).

We are excited to offer our students the opportunity to develop important life skills.
