Welcome Back to Term 3

Term 3 is always a big one from a career perspective; particularly as I support our Year 12 students with managing their transition from Casey Grammar School.

With end of year exams starting in October, it is important that our students are prepared for their next step. Whilst most students are applying for tertiary study, others are looking to secure employment (i.e., Apprenticeships or Traineeships). Whatever their pathway, I am excited to support them as they navigate their last few months as CGS.

Term 3 is a busy term for our Year 12 students. It is also an exciting time in their educational journey, and I am here to support each Year 12 student through each step of the process.

Work Experience Opportunity

Each year, a limited number of students are selected to gain experience at one of Victoria’s four zoos: Healesville Sanctuary, Kyabram Fauna Park Melbourne Zoo, or Werribee Open Range Zoo.

Students finish the week with a deeper appreciation of wildlife, the environment we share with them, and how each role within the organisation works towards conservation.

Some key details for applicants:

  • The program is five full days and, in all weather,
  • Attendance dates for the successful students will be available over each term
  • There are a range of tasks possible during this program including some physical tasks which require initial observation and assessment to ensure students can participate in a way which will maintain workplace safety for all students
  • Applications from secondary students are accepted one year in advance.
