Senior School News

Can you spell words such as ‘hierarchy’, ‘gargantuan’ and ‘bureaucracy’? That is exactly what it takes to be competitive in the annual House Spelling Bee. This year’s competition drew quite a lunchtime crowd, with a representative from Junior (Years 7–9) and Senior (Years 10–12) levels in each House. Congratulations to all competitors, and especially to Booth who came through for the win!

For those who are more competitive in sport, we were thrilled with the results of our runners at the recent SIS Cross Country Carnival at Casey Fields. Whilst everyone did a fantastic job, participating in great spirits and cheering each other on, our students who placed in the top 3 for their age group were:
Lara A – 2nd Under 13 Girls
Alarice M – 1st Under 14 Girls
Daisy Z – 3rd Under 14 Girls
Alexia L – 2nd Under 15 Girls
Shae C – 3rd Under 16 Girls

Following on from a busy and informative National Careers Week, students are close to finalising their subject selections for the 2025 school year and should now be engaging in revisions for the upcoming midyear exams. Students in Years 7 to 10 will undertake assessments in English, Maths, Science and History/Geography, and Years 10 and 11 students will sit exams for VCE Unit 1 subjects. More information will be sent to families via Seqta message.

Finally, thank you to all students and families who have supported our many programs, including attending the Subject Selection Expo and coming along to watch Puffs. What an amazing show this was. We are looking forward to seeing many of you at the Cybersafety Project parent seminar on Monday 3 June.
