Celebrating Success – Kasey Paternoster (2023 Year 12)

Kasey Paternoster successfully completed her VCE at Casey Grammar School in 2023. As part of her VCE program, Kasey completed a VET qualification; a Certificate III in Health Services Assistance through Chisholm Institute. This VET qualification supported Kasey to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to secure a part time job as a Personal Care Attendant at Peninsula Health. What an amazing achievement!

Kasey will continue to work at Peninsula Health, whilst simultaneously completing a qualification to enable her to work as a nurse in the future.

Congratulations Kasey! We are proud of your accomplishments.

Careers and Pathways Week (Year 10)

In Week 7 of Term 1, all Year 10 students will be participating in the week-long Careers and Pathways Week. The purpose of Careers and Pathways Week is for students to conduct research into future career pathways by engaging with tertiary providers (University, TAFE) and industry. Students will develop their enterprise skills in preparation for 2025 and beyond. The program compliments the work our Year 10s are currently undertaking in the Career Discovery Program subject and will support informed subject selection.

A Consent2Go invitation has been sent to all Year 10 students and parents/guardians. This invitation includes additional information regarding the structure of the week.

We are excited to offer our students this opportunity and look forward to sharing exciting updates in due course.

Women in STEM Conference – Expression of Interest (young women)

Mr Vandenberg (Head of Science and Head of Booth) and Ms Blythman are seeking expressions of interest from young women from Years 9–12 to attend a fantastic conference on Women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). This should be around 100 words, outlining the reasons why you would like to attend and what you think you may get from the experience.

The purpose of the program is to inspire students to pursue career pathways in the field/s of STEM. This year’s guest speaker is Dr Morley Muse. Dr Muse is the iSTEM Group Co-Founder. The event is being held on Friday 8 March (International Women’s Day) at Casey Tech.

NOTE: This event will run on the scheduled Parent/Teacher Conference Day (i.e. a non-teaching day). There is a bus that will take you to and from the event. On your arrival back at CGS (at approximately 12:30 pm), you will be dismissed for the day.

Places are limited to 16. To apply for a place, please SEQTA message your EOI to Mr Vandenberg and Ms Blythman. Expressions of interest submissions are due by Wednesday 28 February (note date extension).
