Our final two weeks of Junior Schooling for 2023 at CGS have been full of significant events. These have included our last assembly for the year which was hosted by Foundation L. We thoroughly enjoyed going on a jungle safari with the students who performed ‘Eye of the Tiger’ and we could certainly hear them “roar”.
Huge congratulations to our youngest students for celebrating their many learning opportunities from their first year of schooling. Bravo Mrs Laidlaw and FL!
Our Junior Awards Celebration was a special afternoon that celebrated the achievements of our Years 3–6 students in the areas of academic achievement, outstanding effort and endeavour, leadership, extracurricular activities and commitment to Casey Grammar. Congratulations to all our award recipients.
The musical items were fabulous and of a very high standard and our hosts did a marvellous job in their last official Junior School Captain roles for 2023. Well done Ameek and Namish and a huge thank you to all our 2023 Junior School leaders.
Our Junior School Christmas Chapel was presented by our Year 5 students and their portrayal of the Christmas story was wonderful to watch. To Mrs Grant and Mrs Riviere-Pendle, I thank you for all the hard work that went into preparing our Chapel.
Our recent Year 6 Graduation was another hugely successful event. The graduation ceremony was a look back at student memories from Prep to Year 6 and it culminated in a sensational dance.
The ceremony was followed by a wonderful disco where much fun was had by all. Like myself, our students and their families should be very proud of not just the event, but of their entire Junior School journey. I wish all our 2023 Year 6 graduates all the very best as they continue their educational journey in our Senior School.
I owe Miss Sakeson, Mr Byrne-Nelson and Miss Sutherland a huge debt of gratitude for everything they did to ensure the event was so fabulous.
What a great afternoon we had on Monday at our F–2 Christmas Concert. Each class performed beautifully while enjoying every minute. To Mrs Kyne, I thank you sincerely for organising yet another incredible event.
So that brings us to the end of 2023. I look forward to welcoming all our students back to CGS in the new year. Until then, I wish our entire school community a very merry Christmas and a relaxing, family focused break.
