Welcome to Term 4. I trust everyone has had an enjoyable school holiday and our students feel refreshed and ready to tackle the challenges ahead!

30 Year Anniversary

Casey Grammar School is currently in its 30th year of operation. This is quite a milestone for the school and throughout Term 4 we will be celebrating our anniversary in a variety of ways, culminating in an anniversary celebration assembly towards the end of term 4.

World Teachers’ Day 2023

Australia will celebrate the teaching profession on World Teachers’ Day on Friday 27 October 2023.

We are calling for your support to help us create surprise messages to celebrate our wonderful teachers at Casey Grammar School for their skilled work in educating, inspiring and supporting our students.

Parents, guardians and students, you are invited to send a message of gratitude to our teachers to let them know what a difference they make.

  • Please take some time over the next couple of weeks to reflect on the work of our teachers.
  • When you are ready, sit down and type out your message or messages (if you would like to write to several teachers!).
  • Identify the teacher to whom your message is addressed and note down who the message is from.
  • Ms Tegan Kearney will be collecting and distributing these to our teachers so please send your messages of thanks and gratitude to this email address: t.kearney@caseygrammar.vic.edu.au
  • To enable effective collation, please ensure that your messages are sent by 24 October.

Thank you for your support in helping us celebrate our amazing teachers!

    Nude Food Reminder

Casey Grammar is now a ‘Nude Food’ school. This is a strategy to cut down on the amount of litter in the school each day. ‘Nude Food’ is where food is brought to school with little or no packaging. As the people who pack the lunchboxes, we are asking you to cut packaging out of your child’s lunchbox. Please note that metal forks should not be brought to school. Please talk to your child at home about the importance of taking responsibility for their lunchboxes, returning them to their bags once they have finished eating while ensuring rubbish is placed in the bins. We will echo this message at school.

    Junior School Art Show

Last week we were thrilled to hold our inaugural Junior School Art Show. What an incredible show it was! Each child in Junior School had three pieces of work on display spread across three rooms. A highlight was the ‘glow room’ where the students’ work glowed in the dark. The jungle theme brought together a variety of artworks in a vast array of mediums. Our thanks and congratulations to Ms Danielle Searles for inspiring the work of the children and for the many hours she spent over the holiday period setting up the show. Thank you!

    Valedictory Events

The countdown is on for our Year 12 students who have only a few days of school left ahead of them. Preparations are well underway for their valedictory including their final assembly, Guard of Honour and Valedictory Dinner on 17 October. These are all special events designed to honour and celebrate the achievements of our departing Year 12 students. It has been a pleasure watching the Class of 2023 grow into the responsible young adults they are today. We look forward to celebrating each and every one of them in our farewell valedictory events.

    Mental Health Month

October is Mental Health month. At Casey Grammar we actively support the development of strong mental health in our students and staff. Throughout this month, students will continue to participate in a range of mental health activities so they may grow strong and resilient.

Managing the stress of tests, exams and assessments is an important skill for success at school (and for life!). The mere mention of these to some teens can cause anxiety to escalate. I recommend the articles below published on the Independent Schools Victoria parent website.
