Staff Spotlight

At Casey Grammar we are very proud of all staff and their achievements. Throughout the year, we will highlight a different staff member within each newsletter to introduce you to some members you perhaps haven’t had the pleasure of meeting yet. This week, we had a chat with Kate Grech.

Name: Kate Grech

Position: Year 1 classroom teacher

Qualifications: Bachelor of Education (Primary Education/Special Education)

When did you join Casey Grammar?

I commenced at Casey Grammar in 2007. I have seen many changes as the school has grown over those 16 years. I have also had a year or two off while raising my two boys. But even after all this time, it still has a lovely community feel which makes Casey Grammar unique.

What do you love most about your job and why?

I love getting to know each student’s unique qualities and strengths. Celebrating their successes with them from accomplishments in the classroom to even hearing about the ones outside of school. Helping them to develop a love of learning and curiosity from a young age is something that I am proud to be a part of.

Tell us about your most memorable Casey Grammar experience.

I don’t have one memorable experience, but many each year that make my job a rewarding one. In particular, all the events throughout the year where students have a chance to grow outside of the classroom and develop their confidence in areas such as assemblies. I enjoy being part of those moments and building relationships with students to help them create those memories that I will also remember for a long time.

What’s one thing on your bucket list?

I lived in Canada for a year when I was 18 years old. I would love to go back to visit and take my family with me this time. I would also love to take my boys to America to experience an NBA game, as they both love their basketball.

My photo

This beach photo was taken during a family holiday in Far North Queensland, while I was on Long Service Leave last year. I love creating these holiday memories with the family and exploring new places.
