Wonderful Activities Happening at Casey Grammar School
There have been lots of wonderful activities held for students over the past two weeks. Assemblies, excursions, inter-school sports and wellbeing days all play an important role in the development of lifelong skills in each child. They are an invaluable part of the holistic education we provide at Casey Grammar. One of the special events I was lucky enough to attend recently was the Year 11 Presentation Ball. It was a wonderful evening where our students impressed everyone with their newly acquired dancing skills. Even more impressive was the maturity and respect shown by our students throughout the evening. They have blossomed into wonderful young adults, surrounded by the love and pride of their parents and teachers.
Another milestone for our students is the 100 days of school celebrated by our Foundation students. Last week the children and staff had a lot of fun dressing up as 100-year-olds. I was thrilled to be able to visit each classroom to admire the old-fashioned attire of the students. I was not so thrilled when one of the children told me I looked really old. They had put a lot of effort into looking old. For me, it comes effortlessly!
The competitive spirit was alive and well in Junior School last week as the students took part in the Maths Olympiad. I received lots of reports of students using every available moment to work on the Maths Olympiad — even getting out of bed early to complete as many hours as possible. Congratulations to all of the Junior School students for their enthusiasm in this competition.
