From the Head of Junior School
Our entire Junior School enjoyed 1G’s recent assembly. Highlights included animal life cycles, a beautiful PowerPoint presentation of life in 1G and the story of ‘In my Heart’ that saw our students talking about their feelings. Our students’ smiles certainly said it all and I’m sure their parents, grandparents and special friends, who were in attendance, were just as proud of them as Mrs Grech and I were. Bravo to 1G and Mrs Grech.
Year 3 and Year 4 students attended science incursions over the past fortnight. The Year 3 focus was different chemical reactions while our Year 4 cohort learnt all about heat and energy. The science experiments conducted at these incursions were yet another wonderful learning experience for our students.
Four of our Junior School students participated in the prestigious Regional Cross Country last week. I’d like to congratulate Kobi, Snaver, Sahib and Zara on their fine efforts. Incredibly, Zara finished only two positions away from making it to State Cross Country. You should all be very proud of yourselves.
Our 3N assembly was such a joyful experience watching Miss Nolan’s students performing confidently up on the big stage. They told the story of Bleaksville where everyone is unhappy and has no friends. Throughout the assembly we learnt the value of friendship and the play concluded with all the characters moving to Sparkle Town where everyone was happy and friendly. The final number was a dazzling song with the children dancing and singing in sensational sparkling costumes. Congrats to Miss Nolan and her talented students.
Wishing all our families a safe, relaxing and family focused break. I look forward to welcoming our students back to CGS to commence Term 3 on Tuesday 18 July.

Years 3 - 6 Athletics Carnival
The weather was perfect for the Years 3–6 Athletics Carnival at Casey Fields. Students competed in all events with enthusiasm and displayed fantastic encouragement and support towards their peers. House spirit was at an all-time high, with House chants ringing loudly. Congratulations to Booth House for winning the event, and to all students on their participation and sportsmanship. Special congratulations to those who will be competing in the District Athletics Carnival in Term 3.
Thank you to all staff for ensuring events ran smoothly throughout the day, and to our parents and friends for your support in coming along to watch and support our students.
