Calling on our Community

Casey Grammar School is about to begin the process of creating a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). This is a living, evolving document that allows us as a school to reflect on where we are at and to make plans for how we can promote reconciliation within our school community.

Staff, students and parents are invited to be on the committee that will shape this document.

If you are a parent of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Island heritage or have an interest in promoting reconciliation in our school, please contact m.riviere-pendle@caseygrammar.vic.edu.au to express interest in joining the committee.

We hope to have many different voices and perspectives contribute to this group.

Upcoming Events

  • Booth and Reid Senior School House Chapel will take place on the final day of Term 3. We will focus on the theme of generosity and highlight the fantastic work of their recently selected House Charities. Booth will support the Salvation Army and Reid will support Very Special Kids.
  • Approximately 15 students are attending Backpacks 4 Vic Kids in the holidays along with four staff to assist the volunteers in preparing backpacks for children in out of home care. If families are interested in supporting this wonderful local organisation, please visit: https://www.facebook.com/Backpacks4VICKids/

We are delighted to have new students volunteering every time, and also to have such strong demand that students are actually missing out on coming. If your child wishes to be involved next holidays, please encourage them to respond early.

As we conclude what has been a very busy term, may you take the opportunity to consider the good that you have seen and been a part of. There is an old song with the following lyrics, ‘Count your blessings, count them one by one / And it will surprise you what God has done’. There are days of sadness and darkness for everyone. Yet, even amidst that there are still blessings to be found in every day.

May the holidays give the opportunity for rest and relaxation with those you love.
