Welcome
It has been a great start to the year, and it has been lovely to see students back on campus and in the library.
Many students are already in the swing of borrowing and reading; utilising their library class time as well as before school and lunchtime to borrow.
I would like to remind students that the library is open before school from 8.00 am for students wishing to borrow and read books. It is also open to Senior School students after school until 4.00 pm and Primary School students can come in to borrow before 3:25 pm.
It’s important to note that this is not an alternative to after school care for Junior School students.
Due to meeting schedules and other school events, the library is not always supervised by a teacher, or there may be times the library has to close to students after school where another Senior School option can be provided. As such, we would like to remind Junior School families of the amazing Team Kids service that provides a large range of before and after school activities.
All students are very welcome at lunchtime as well. With the weather being so unpredictable at the moment, many students have found the library to be perfect for playing board games, colouring in, reading and socialising during their break.
Book Club
Book Club brochures have been delivered to classrooms. Parents who would like to make a purchase can do so through the online portal. Anyone having trouble is welcome to call the library or send an email to library@caseygrammar.vic.edu.au and we will do our best to help walk you through the process.
Once we hit the cutoff date stamped on the brochure, Scholastic pack the purchases and post them to the school. When we receive the delivery, unless it was marked as a gift, we will take these to the classroom for your child to bring home and share with the family. Book Club is an optional program but a great way for students to continue to engage in reading.
Happy reading!
