Year 7 2023 Orientation Day
On Monday, we welcomed a new cohort to the Senior School. These students will one day be the Graduating Class of 2028! For now, they are a group of curious students who are very excited, and perhaps a little nervous, about joining Year 7 in 2023. This day was an opportunity for these students to make connections by meeting new friends and teachers, and becoming familiar with their new surroundings. We look forward to seeing them again at the start of Term 1 on Monday 30 January.
Early Commencement
With the bulk of the Year 7-11 end-of-year exams out of the way, it might seem that now is a good time to start winding down as the holidays approach. However, students will soon be able to access their new timetables for the Early Commencement Week in Week 9. This is an important week where students will gain an understanding of the curriculum requirements for the new school year, ensuring they get off to a productive start next February. In many cases, particularly for VCE classes, tasks will be set that must be completed over the summer break.
As of Monday 28 November, we will be returning to full uniform requirements whereby students are to arrive and depart school in correct uniform, with the blazer as the outer garment. For all sport classes, students should change at recess or lunchtime into and out of their sport gear. Students are reminded to bring the correct equipment to school in a CGS sport bag on the days where PE is timetabled.

Under the Microscope
Casey Grammar’s Science Department was given access to a Scanning Electron Microscope for a week and students and staff were wowed by some of the images they saw! We could see the compound eyes of an insect and the tiny stomata or pores within a leaf and a dandelion seed to name a few. Students were excited to see how far we could magnify the object and how detailed the images became. We look forward to the opportunity of having the Scanning Electron Microscope at our school again next year.
