The Knowing Project

It has been a very exciting start to Term 4 with Lamine and Ousmane from The Knowing Project coming to Casey Grammar School.

Our Year 3 students have been enjoying learning about African culture and are looking forward to entertaining you with their African drumming skills at our upcoming Summer Music Concert on November 22nd.

Below are some recounts of the students’ experiences.

 On Wednesday, the Year 3 students did African Drumming. I felt so excited to learn, and then to teach my parents at home. Some things I have learnt so far are a lot of hand movements and drumming techniques. I am shocked we get to do the drumming for three weeks, and then we get to perform it!

On Wednesday, all the year 3 students went to the Performing Arts Centre to do African drumming performance for the Summer Concert. An interesting thing that I learnt is that African Drumming can contain hand movements - it is really fun. In the middle of the performance we split into groups. It will be the best performance in the school.
