Term 3 (and early Term 4) have been incredibly busy for our Year 12 students.
In addition to their academic pursuits, most of our Year 12 students have been preparing applications for their 2023 endeavors. The majority of our Year 12 cohort have submitted applications via Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) and will now wait anxiously until 1st round offers are made on 21 December 2022 (Results released: 12 December 2022).
I want to congratulate our Year 12 students for successfully submitting timely VTAC applications (due: 29 September). There is a huge amount of work that goes into preparing the required evidence and statements to support their applications and we commend them for navigating this complex process whilst juggling Unit 4 studies.
Well done!
Early Offers – 2023
A significant number of our Year 12 students have already received early offer/s for 2023 tertiary courses, which is very exciting! This is a wonderful achievement and certainly alleviates some anxiety as we move towards the exam period.
Congratulations to those students. I am very proud of you!
Job Fair – Cranbourne Park
Last week, Casey Grammar School students were encouraged to attend the
Cranbourne Park Job Fair.
The Cranbourne Park Job Fair initiative provided job seekers the opportunity to meet with 16 different employers, regarding 63 part time/casual roles available at the shopping complex. Attendees had the opportunity to queue for short, 15-minute interviews with employers. Successful applicants will be contacted this week.
Well done to all Casey Grammar students who attended the fair. Whether or not you are successful in your application/s for a role, the experience itself will have provided you the opportunity to develop your ‘job seeking’ skills and will certainly help with any future job applications.
If you were successful in securing a role, I would encourage you to review this resource - (A guide to starting a new job).
Career Bullseyes
I have previously shared information regarding the amazing My Future resource that is available to students and their parents/guardians to support informed career decisions. It is a wonderful website with great tools to help student better understand the job opportunities available to them.
In particular, one tool – Career Bullseyes - continues to be a very valuable resource for our students. Many of our parents/guardians may recognise them from their own School career experiences.
The Career Bullseyes allow students to explore career pathways by selecting a learning area they enjoy. The Bullseyes also identify levels of qualification required for particular jobs.
I would encourage all students (and their parents/guardians) to take advantage of this great tool. To access the Bullseyes, click this link.
Casey Grammar Careers Website
Students and parents/guardians can access the Casey Grammar Careers Webpage via the Casey Grammar homepage.
This website is a terrific source of information for both students and parents/guardians, and I strongly encourage you to regularly check the page for important career updates.
As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. My workdays are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and I am best contacted on the below email.
