To all our Casey Grammar students and families, welcome back to Term 3!
I trust you enjoyed the break and were able to spend some quality time with your family and friends.
We have had a busy start to this term in Junior School!
Divisional Soccer Competition
Recently, a team of Year 5 and 6 students, accompanied by Mr Newham and Miss Sutherland, competed in a Divisional Soccer Competition.
The students played well as a team and were thrilled to win one of their three matches against stiff competition.
Parent/Teacher Interviews
Thanks to all Junior School parents who recently participated in Parent/Teacher interviews with their child’s classroom teacher. At Casey Grammar, we firmly believe that when parents and teachers have strong relationships, children achieve many academic and social benefits. I’d like to thank our teachers for the additional time and effort they contributed to ensure these interviews took place. Conducting interviews on two evenings in a row after teaching students all day is a huge task, and I am grateful for the professionalism of our wonderful staff.
RoboCup Competition
Last week, Casey Grammar entered six teams into the RoboCup competition. It was a most successful day that was thoroughly enjoyed by all participants. Thanks to Miss Trompeuse, Mrs Levett, Mrs Torcasio and Miss Sutherland for organising and attending this event. The icing on the cake for the day was that we came home with the silver and bronze awards!
Excursions
Today our Year 4 students and staff headed off on their excursion to the Royal Melbourne Zoo. I am sure that our students will enjoy this fabulous experience after very few excursion opportunities over the past two years. Sincere thanks to all our staff who made this excursion possible. Sadly today’s Year 5 Sovereign Hill excursion has been postponed due to student and staff absences. Once we confirm an alternative date we will notify our Year 5 families.
Stay safe and well,Melissa Roberton

Booth Fundraiser
Last term the Junior School Booth Fundraiser was an amazing success!
A big thank you to parents for allowing their children to support the Australian Koala Foundation through their purchases. A grand total of $2,229.70 was raised, which well and truly exceeded expectations.
Congratulations to Luna P from 2D who won the raffle. Luna and her family will enjoy a free pass to the Moonlit Sanctuary and an up close and personal experience with a koala.
I would like to thank the Booth Year 6 students for assisting with the stall, they were all wonderful.
The Australian Koala Foundation has thanked Casey Grammar families for their generous donations and were thrilled we could help the koalas.

Casey South Divisional Soccer Competition
Recently, 15 students from Casey Grammar participated in the Casey South Divisional Soccer Competition at Pakenham United Soccer Club.
It was the first time Casey Grammar had entered a Junior School team and the competition was tough!
We won our first game 2 - 0, with Hayley C popping up at the back post to score with two headers.
Sadly, we lost our next game 3 - 2, coming back from 2 nil down via a penalty from our captain Leith S and a 25-yard screamer from Kobi M.
We needed a win in our final game, but it wasn’t meant to be. We lost 1 - 0.
We were disappointed to be out of the competition, but proud of the way we played and held our own as a team. Well done to everyone for their fantastic efforts!
The team included: Leith (Captain), Hayley, Abaraj, Jacob, Lucas, Mason, Taiga, Blake, Ryder, Marco, Kobi, Krish, Auro and Darcy - with Mr Newham as our coach.
Some of the students have shared their experience below.
“Round One was relatively easy. We faced Cranbourne West and won 2-0.”
“Round 2 was tight and close against River Gum Primary School. We lost 3 - 2.”
“Our last game was against Narre Warren South. We lost again, but only by 1-0. “
“All in all, we had a blast!” - Leith, Mason, Abaraj and Krish.

Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD)
Under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA) and the Disability Standards for Education 2005 (the Standards), Australian students with a disability must be able to access and participate in education on the same basis as their peers.
To ensure this, students with a disability may receive support in the classroom or other areas of schooling by way of adjustments to access education. Support given to students to access the curriculum is based on the professional judgement of teachers, professionals and in consultation with family members.
The Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD) provides information about the number of students with disability in schools and the adjustments they receive. The Australian Education Regulation 2013 requires all schools in Australia to report the data collected for the NCCD to the Australian Government on an annual basis.
The NCCD is a consistent, reliable and systematic way in recording the number of students with disabilities who are receiving adjustments and enables schools and education authorities to better understand the needs of students in how they can be best supported at school.
