What a wonderful week we had celebrating books last week!

It was my great pleasure to be invited into the Junior School classes to read to students, and discuss the importance of reading with them.

Book Week culminated in our dress up day on Friday, featuring a fantastic array of book characters. The Junior School students loved participating in the Book Week parade, showing off their incredible outfits. Well done to all the mums and dads who put so much thought and effort into these costumes!

It was wonderful to see Senior School students, teachers and admin staff joining in the dress up fun this year. Congratulations to everyone on your efforts.

Keep reading widely so we can expand on the characters we see next year!

Junior School Assembly

Last week, we experienced the joy of Junior School assemblies again!

It is wonderful to have assemblies resume in the Performing Arts Centre and be able to welcome parents to join in the fun. Thank you to Mr Newham’s Year 6 class for their vibrant and fun assembly.

Congratulations to all involved.

Instrumental Concert

It is also wonderful to have live music performances resume within our school!

Last week we enjoyed the Instrumental Concert featuring students from both Junior School and Senior School.  I commend all performers for not only their beautiful music, but also their courage in performing in front of a large crowd.

Carpark Reminders

  • Please have a read of the following safety measures we have in place during drop off and pick up We ask all parents to not:Stop on New Holland Drive to let your child get in or out of the car. The only safe please to drop off or pick up your child is in the PAC car park or the Stadium car park
  • Stop in the TAFE drive-in lane to pick up or drop off their child. There is no space for parking in New Holland Drive.
  • Park outside Marnebek School or take parking spots allocated to Marnebek parents.

Also, please be reminded that -

  • It is a legal requirement that all passengers wear a seat belt when travelling in cars in Victoria
  • Children are legally not permitted to sit in the front seat of a moving car until they are 7 years of age. However, it is safest — and best practice — for children to not sit in the front seat until they are 13 years old. This is the recommendation of most car manufacturers as air bags in front seats are not designed for children and may cause suffocation in the event of an accident.

We thank you for considering the safety of all children and oth pedestrians when travelling to and from school.
