National Careers Week

From a careers perspective, Term 2 is a big term. Our Years 8 to 11 students will be making decisions about their 2023 subjects and our Year 12 students are inching closer to submitting their course preferences for 2023, with applications opening early in Term 3.

At Casey Grammar School, we are committed to supporting our students in making informed subject selections — selections that align with a student’s strengths, values and interests and that factor in pre-requisite requirements for their future study aspirations. To support this, we are running a number of exciting events in Term 2.

One event is National Careers Week in Week 4. This is an initiative of the Career Industry Council of Australia (CICA) and it celebrates careers, career development, career development services and practitioners and promotes the economic, social and personal benefits of career development.

For further information regarding National Careers Week at Casey Grammar School, please refer to the letter sent to all Senior School parents/guardians on Monday, 2 May.

Careers and Pathways Week 2022

In Term 1, all Year 10 students participated in Careers and Pathways Week that gave them the opportunity to research future career pathways by visiting tertiary providers and taking part in activities that build their enterprise skills ready for 2023 and beyond.

It was a huge week!

Our students were lucky enough to ‘Try a Trade’ at Chisholm Institute and experienced ‘University life’ at Monash University and Federation University. They also focused on deepening their understanding of the future of work and the importance of developing career resilience.

A big thank you to the Year 10 students. I was very proud of how they represented themselves and Casey Grammar School. It was my pleasure getting to know this group and I am excited to support them on their career journeys.

Subject Selection Expo 2022 Reminder

On Tuesday, 24 May from 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm, Casey Grammar School is holding its inaugural Subject Selection Expo. A letter has been sent to parents and guardians of all Year 8 to Year 11 students about this event.
