A Glimpse of Our New Foundation Building
It is with great pleasure that I share with you an artist’s impression of our new Foundation (Prep) building that will replace our current Prep building, affectionately known as The Reggio. Our plan is to demolish The Reggio building in July and immediately begin construction of the new building.
It is expected to be finished by the end of this year, allowing the Foundation students of 2023 to move straight in. During the 2022/23 summer holidays, we plan to redevelop the front car park. By 2023, the New Holland Drive façade of our school will be complete, with a series of modern buildings and a beautiful entry.
We are all very excited about this new building and the wonderful new learning opportunities it will provide to our Foundation students and the rest of the school.
Update to COVID Screening Requirements
The Department of Education and Training (DET) has notified us of a change to the COVID screening requirements for students and staff. Previously, students and staff who tested positive for COVID-19, did not need to undertake COVID-19 screening ie twice weekly Rapid Antigen Tests for 30 days. This time period has now changed to 8 weeks. This is subject to those students and staff having completed their 7-day isolation period and being subsequently asymptomatic.
Fire Drill
I am very impressed with the smooth evacuation drill we held last week. Over the past two years we have not had many opportunities to practice our evacuation processes and I was very proud of the way the students conducted themselves. They moved quickly to the designated gathering point and waited patiently while everything was checked off. The drill was over very quickly thanks to the cooperation and maturity of our students. Well done!
Harmony Week
Last week was Harmony Week—a time for us to celebrate our inclusive community and to consider ways in which we can all contribute to harmony around the world.
Thank you to our wonderful Chaplain, Mrs Riviere-Pendle, who organised the most amazing array of Harmony Week activities. There was plenty of music, dancing, cooking and eating throughout the week. Our school was splashed with colour on Thursday, thanks to the array of cultural clothes on display. We are indebted to Mrs Riviere-Pendle and all staff and students who assisted her in activities throughout the week.
Thank you
Stay safe, stay well.
