We are back!!
What a delight it was to welcome all 450 Junior School students back to onsite learning last Wednesday. As our students entered our grounds, the school was literally buzzing with excitement and anticipation.
It didn’t take long for students to happily catch up with their friends and teachers and settle into their well-established, comfortable routines. Thank you to our teachers for ensuring much fun and enjoyment was had during those first few days as our students reconnected with their classmates and their classrooms.
I’m pleased to announce that we have some exciting activities coming up over our final weeks of the school year.
In addition to some incursions and excursions that are busily being planned, our students will also enjoy the following live events:
- 17-19 November 2021: Year 6 Summit Camp
- 24 November 2021: P-2 Sports Day
- 26 November 2021: Junior School Book Week Dress-Up Day
- 29 November 2021: Junior School Years 3 to 6 Celebration and Awards Afternoon
- 2 December 2021: Junior School Christmas Chapel
- 2 December 2021: Year 6 Graduation
- 3 December 2021: Junior School Years 3 to 6 Swimming Carnival
- 7 December 2021: Junior School Teachers’ Assembly
Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 restrictions, parents are unable to attend any of these onsite events but some of them will be recorded for our parents to enjoy later.
Finally, we look forward excitedly to some wonderful events for our P-6 students over the remaining month of 2021 at CGS.

Fiendish Halloween Fun
Year 6 students mixed some crazy potions to celebrate Halloween. They used their English skills to write their own versions of the Three Witches spell from Macbeth and relied on their Maths skills to carefully measure and mix a 600mL potion of their own devising. The Year 6s also had some fiendish fun making their potion posters!
Happy Diwali 2021!
Friday, 5 October 2021 marked the start of Diwali, the festival of the lights. Many of the prep students shared stories about this wonderful celebration and created their own lanterns. I hope you enjoy these amazing creations by Prep W!
