Celebrating our School Leaders

In Week 2, we celebrated the Commissioning Service of our Principal, Mrs Fiona Williams, our Year 12 Leaders and the Year 12 cohort. Although Mrs Williams has been our Principal for some time, last year we were unable to meet in the way we did earlier this term.

It seems now that our timing was perfect, and, in retrospect, we are very grateful to have been able to mark this occasion in the way we did.

As part of the Commissioning of Mrs Williams, we were privileged to welcome the Principals from our sister schools, Balcombe Grammar and Clyde Grammar, as well as members of the Board including Mrs Marie Ormandy, the Chair.

Students and Families Share Special Day

Students from Junior School to Senior School welcomed Mrs Williams on behalf of the students, and our School Captains, Lilly and Alastair, presented her with flowers.

Our new School Captains gave a speech and shared their excitement at being a part of the Leadership Team for 2021. We are looking forward to the way these 17 Year 12 students and the wider cohort will lead our School this year.

Parents, grandparents, and significant people in the lives of our Year 12 students joined us in celebrating this milestone, as the cohort each received their Year 12 badge.

An absolute highlight was the performance of the VCE Music Class, led by Mr Collidge and featuring year 12 students Russell, Lachlan, Kalim, Connor, Ethan and Shaqeel. Grateful thanks for the preparation work they put into the music and for their fantastic performance.

Unfortunately, our Junior School Commissioning was delayed and will be held on Thursday in Week 4. We look forward to sharing this special event with our Years 4-6 Junior School students.

Thinking of Others as Easter Approaches

Another significant event of late is that the season of Lent has started. With it comes the annual encouragement for us to alter something, to sacrifice something of value for God and for others.

Whilst traditionally this may take the form of not having chocolate in the lead up to Easter, or avoiding particular foods or drinks as a form of fasting, it may also be giving up something of value, such as time.

We are all busy, and have many demands, but this time invites us to consider how we might give up some of our time or money to help, support or care for others. Each year 40 Acts of Kindness creates a series of challenges which you may use as inspiration for how you can strengthen your relationships and community.

Think creatively about how you could participate in this season, involving those you love.

Every blessing in the weeks ahead.
